How to choose
Fourteen of the 22 experiences we list for Cairo visit a pyramid field, eleven of them at Giza. Three go only to the older fields at Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur, from €13.21 for five to six hours up to €52.84 for a private one. Five listings pair the plateau with the Grand Egyptian Museum. Beyond the pyramids the page thins quickly: two tours cover the medieval and Coptic city with the Citadel and Khan el-Khalili, two are Nile dinner cruises, and four leave Cairo entirely — two Alexandria days of ten to twelve hours, a Red Sea day, and a 48-hour camping trip to the White and Black deserts. The median length here is six hours.
That concentration decides what you are really comparing. The ten listings that name Giza hold 11,323 of the 19,997 reviews on this page and run from €7.93 to €123.29, eight of the ten under €32 — much the same morning on the same plateau at very different prices. The dearest item is a three-hour photoshoot with a horse and a camel; the cheapest is a half day billed as lunch, camel and a pyramid interior. Twelve of the 22 are sold as private. Ratings are flat, sixteen at 4.9 or above and four at 5.0, and the two lowest are both trips out of town: an Alexandria day at 4.0 from 163 reviews, the Red Sea day at 4.3. All 22 allow free cancellation.
The Giza Plateau opens 8:00–16:00 every day and foreign visitors pay 700 EGP, students 350, with tickets sold online at egymonuments.com, at four self-service machines that take bank cards, and at the outlets on site. Getting in needs no tour. What that ticket does not cover is the interiors: the Great Pyramid, Khafre, Menkaure, the tomb of Meresankh III and the Workers' Cemetery are ticketed separately.
The Grand Egyptian Museum sells timed entry on its only official ticketing site, and at machines and counters on site; galleries open 9:00–18:00, to 21:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, last entry an hour earlier. Published foreign-adult prices elsewhere are 550 EGP for the Citadel, whose ticket also covers two more mosques and three museums inside the walls, 550 EGP each for the Egyptian Museum and the NMEC, and 280 EGP for the Coptic Museum.

No. The plateau is open 8:00–16:00 every day, foreign entry is 700 EGP and students pay 350, and tickets are sold online at egymonuments.com, at four self-service machines that take bank cards and at the outlets on the site. Ten of our 22 listings name Giza, at anything from €7.93 to €123.29, and what they add is transport, a guide and a fixed start. One thing the plateau ticket does not include is the pyramid interiors, which are sold separately; two of the listings here advertise going inside.
Not on this page. Five of the 22 listings take in a museum and all five are the Grand Egyptian Museum beside the plateau; none names the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square or the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Both of those charge 550 EGP for foreign adults. The Egyptian Museum opens 9:00–17:00 daily with the ticket window closing at 16:00 and an audio tour at 75 EGP, and the NMEC opens 9:00–17:00 Saturday to Thursday plus 18:00–21:00 on Fridays.
Longer than anything else on the page. Four of the 22 leave the city: two Alexandria days of ten to twelve hours at €25.54 and €26.42, a Red Sea day of eight to ten hours at €55.48, and a two-day White and Black Desert trip with camping at €82.43. The three single-day trips are also the weakest scores here, at 4.0, 4.3 and 4.7, and the four together hold 1,946 reviews against 19,997 across the page. Look at the return time before you plan your evening.
