How to choose

Five Pearl Harbor tours, five luaus, five island loops

Honolulu's shelf is three blocks of five. Five of the 19 experiences we list go to Pearl Harbor, from a €37.65 five-hour run that folds in a Honolulu city loop to a €198.15 passport of nine to ten hours, with the Battleship Missouri added at €131.22. Five more circle Oʻahu by coach, six and a half to twelve hours at €74.81 to €164.14, and two of those stop to snorkel. Those loops carry the page: 47,581 of its 76,283 reviews sit in that block of five, including the 19,449 behind the only 5.0 listing here. Across all 19 the median run is five hours and the median price €95.81.

The third five is the evening luau, two to four hours at €88.95 to €156.76, and it holds the lowest-rated item on the page: the oceanfront Ka Moana lūʻau at 4.1, against 4.8 from 3,783 reviews for Mauka Warriors. Four listings stand alone — a €44.03 shuttle to the Dole Plantation and Haleiwa, a 90-minute beginner scuba dive at €78.38, a two-hour magic show at €87.18, and a 60-minute doors-off helicopter flight at €475.55, the shortest and by far the dearest thing we carry. The city barely appears on its own terms: the only Honolulu sightseeing here is bolted onto a Pearl Harbor run, and nothing enters ʻIolani Palace or the Bishop Museum. Nine of the 19 last six hours or more.

What to know before you book in Honolulu

Pearl Harbor is free. The visitor centre, museums and grounds open 7:00 to 17:00 daily, and the boat programme to the USS Arizona Memorial costs nothing either, though it needs a timed ticket reserved on recreation.gov. Programmes run between 7:30 and 15:00, last about 80 minutes, and ask you to arrive an hour before your slot. A paid tour buys the transfer and the reservation, not admission.

The Battleship Missouri does charge: $34.99 for adults, open 8:00 to 16:00 and reachable only by the free shuttle from the visitor centre, every 15 minutes, last return 16:05. Photo ID may be asked for, so foreign visitors should carry a passport. All 19 listings on this page cancel free.

Quick answers

Do I need a tour to visit Pearl Harbor from Waikiki?

Not for entry. The visitor centre, museums and grounds are free and open 7:00 to 17:00 daily, and the USS Arizona boat programme is free as well, though it needs a timed ticket booked on recreation.gov for a slot between 7:30 and 15:00; it lasts about 80 minutes and you are asked to arrive an hour ahead. What the five Pearl Harbor listings sell is the ride from Waikiki and the booking: €37.65 for five hours with a Honolulu city loop, €48.44 for four hours, or €131.22 to €198.15 for longer days that add the Battleship Missouri, which charges $34.99 for adults.

Can I book Diamond Head or Hanauma Bay through this page?

No. Neither appears in any of the 19 listings, and both run their own reservations. Out-of-state visitors must book Diamond Head State Monument online, up to 30 days ahead, at $5 per person plus

How long is a circle island tour of Oahu?

Longer than a morning. The five loop tours run six and a half to twelve hours from Waikiki at €74.81 to €164.14, and the two that build in snorkelling are the €78.38 trip of eight to ten hours and the €103.92 one of ten to twelve. The most reviewed item on this page is one of these, a full or half day loop at €88.06 rated 5.0 from 19,449 reviews. If you would rather cover one stretch alone, TheBus charges $3 an adult ride in exact change, or $7.50 for the whole day with a HOLO card.
