Finding experiences in Marrakech…

Prices are starting prices in EUR and may vary by date, group size and option. Check availability and full terms on Viator before booking.

Search covers the whole collection for this city, not just the experiences shown. Price, length and sorting are applied before the list is built; when a search is running, price and length are applied to the results on this page. The featured order may reflect reviews, popularity, bookings and payments from operators.

How to choose

Marrakech sells the desert, not the medina

Seventeen of the 23 experiences we list for Marrakech leave the city altogether. Six are three-day overland trips of 72 hours each, from €100 to €270: four head for the Merzouga dunes, one finishes in Fes and one runs to Chefchaouen by way of the imperial cities. Five are dawn hot-air balloon flights, four to five hours door to door, from €30 to €132. Five more are evenings in the Agafay desert with a quad bike, a camel ride and a dinner show, five to six hours, from €12 to €31.36. The last is a full day through the Atlas and its five valleys. The median listing runs five hours, and that number describes almost nothing on the page.

What stays inside the walls is short and cheap: five guided city or medina walks of three to four hours, €15 to €34, and one three-hour food tour at €47. Exactly one of the 23 titles names a monument, a four-hour half day taking in the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the souks at €15. Nothing here is built around the Jardin Majorelle, the Yves Saint Laurent museum or the Ben Youssef Madrasa, and there is no cooking class and no hammam. Ratings run from 4.6 to 5.0, the most reviewed item is the €12 Agafay evening with 14,573 reviews, and all 23 carry free cancellation.

What to know before you book in Marrakech

The big monuments have one fixed price. The Ministry of Culture charges foreign adults 100 Dh each at the Bahia Palace, El Badi and the Saadian Tombs, sold at the gate and through its e-ticketing portal, with children aged 7 to 13 at 50 Dh; the Ben Youssef Madrasa is 50 Dh and takes bookings on its own site. A guided walk buys the guide, not a cheaper door.

Two places cannot be bought at the door at all: the Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent museum sell only through tickets.jardinmajorelle.com, on a timed entry, and no product we list includes them, so book those yourself. Dar el Bacha at 60 Dh and Dar Si Said at 30 Dh close on Mondays, the YSL museum on Wednesdays. The Menara gardens and olive grove are free; only the pavilion is ticketed.

Quick answers

Do I need a tour to see the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs?

No. Both are sold by the Ministry of Culture at 100 Dh for foreign adults, at the gate and through its e-ticketing portal, and both open 9:00 to 17:00. Only one of the 23 experiences we list names them, a four-hour half day at €15, and the other four medina walks run €17.61 to €34 without naming a single monument. What you are paying for is a guide through the lanes.

Can I book the Jardin Majorelle as part of a tour?

Not from this page. None of the 23 experiences we list includes the garden, and tickets are sold only online at tickets.jardinmajorelle.com, the one official site, for a timed entry. The garden opens 8:00 to 18:30 with last entry at 18:00, and the Berber arts museum inside it runs 8:30 to 18:00. The Yves Saint Laurent museum next door sells through the same site and closes on Wednesdays.

Is the Agafay desert the same as the Sahara trip?

No, and the gap is two and a half days. Five of our listings go to Agafay for an evening of quad biking, a camel ride and a dinner show, five to six hours, €12 to €31.36. The six Sahara trips are 72 hours each and cost €100 to €270, with four aimed at the Merzouga dunes, one ending in Fes and one in Chefchaouen. Those six hold 32,026 reviews between them against 26,511 for the Agafay evenings.
