Finding experiences in Rotterdam…

Prices are starting prices in EUR and may vary by date, group size and option. Check availability and full terms on Viator before booking.

Search covers the whole collection for this city, not just the experiences shown. Price, length and sorting are applied before the list is built; when a search is running, price and length are applied to the results on this page. The featured order may reflect reviews, popularity, bookings and payments from operators.

How to choose

A port city, and not one boat trip

Rotterdam's list has no boat on it. Not one of the 21 experiences we publish is sold as a harbour cruise, a river trip or a ferry ride; the water reaches this page only through the cruise terminal, which four listings name. Three of those are private transfers, to Amsterdam at €142.50 and €158 and to Schiphol at €158, and a fourth private car at €270 runs to Amsterdam or the airport without touching the port. The Keukenhof day trip is the only tour offering a cruise-terminal pick-up. Set the four transfers aside and 17 experiences remain: six city walks, three food tours, two bike tours, a pedicab, one entrance ticket and four trips out of town.

The other gap is admission. One listing of the 21 takes you through a door, a Rotterdam Zoo Diergaarde Blijdorp entrance ticket at €31.50 for four hours, and its 217 reviews are the most on this page. Nothing is built on the Maritime Museum, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, Kunsthal, Euromast, Laurenskerk or the Cube Houses, so the money buys a guide and a route rather than entry. The median length across the 21 is two and a half hours, rising to three once the transfers are removed. Prices run from €27.50 for a two-hour walk to €468.75 for a private customisable day; seven cost under €50, eleven are private, and all 21 cancel free.

Tickets the Rotterdam tours do not include

None of the 21 covers a museum, so those tickets are yours to buy direct. Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen normally opens Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 to 17:00, and requires a timed admission ticket, which makes it the slot to fix first. The Maritime Museum normally opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 and Sunday from 11:00, with Monday holiday exceptions, and its online booking applies to many pass holders too.

Sonneveld House normally opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00. Kunsthal's exhibition programme and visitor hours change, so check both and arrive with two hours left before closing. Laurenskerk's regular sightseeing session normally runs Tuesday to Saturday, with worship and events affecting access, so confirm the calendar. For Euromast, choose the ticket matching the viewing experience you want and check visibility; the base visit takes about an hour, with dining separate.

Quick answers

Is a guided walking tour of Rotterdam worth booking?

Six of the 21 listings are city walks, and the floor is low: two hours with a local guide costs €27.50 or €28.50, and a two-and-a-half-hour rooftop route is €39. Private walks start at €54 and reach €135 for a half-day of three to four hours. None of the six includes a museum ticket, so you are paying for the guide and the route. Ratings run 4.5 to 4.8 on 39 to 81 reviews, except one €40 walk that has no rating yet, and every listing cancels free.

Can I visit Kinderdijk or Keukenhof from Rotterdam?

Four listings leave the city. Keukenhof is the only shared one, €44.50 for six and a half hours, with pick-up at the cruise terminal or in the centre. The windmill options are private: Kinderdijk at €190 for three to four hours, and a windmills-and-countryside day at €412 for six hours. A private customisable day trip of five to eight hours is €468.75, the dearest thing on the page.

Do I need to book Rotterdam museum tickets in advance?

For Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen yes, because entry uses a timed admission ticket and the building normally opens Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 and 17:00. The Maritime Museum sells online, which also applies to many pass holders, and normally opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 and Sunday from 11:00, with Monday holiday exceptions. Laurenskerk's sightseeing session normally runs Tuesday to Saturday, so check its calendar before choosing a day. None of our 21 listings includes any of these admissions; the only entrance ticket here is the zoo, at €31.50.
