How to choose
Twenty-two experiences are listed for Shanghai and 17 of them are sold as private tours: your own guide, your own car, your own start time. The five that are not are a food walk, two admission tickets, a bullet-train day to the Southern Great Wall, and the one day trip to Suzhou and Zhouzhuang that is not sold privately. That last one, ten hours at €118.89, is the lowest-rated listing on the page — 3.8 from 437 reviews — while 12 of the 21 rated products hold a flat 5.0. The effect is a high floor under the prices: a half-day private city tour costs €81.90 or €101.27, a full private day €95.99 to €101.27, and the median price across the page is €117.50.
The second shape is how often the page points away from the centre. Nine of the 22 pair Shanghai with a canal town or with Suzhou; the titles name Zhujiajiao six times, Suzhou three and Zhouzhuang once, and three of them are near-identical half-days to Zhujiajiao, four to five and a half hours at €119 to €130.34. Inside the city there is less than you would expect: one walking tour of the former French Concession at €83.66, three after-dark listings of three to four hours built on a Huangpu cruise, two plain tickets and an airport transfer. Nothing is sold around Yu Garden or the Bund on its own, and the most reviewed product here is a three-hour central food walk at €69.57, carrying 1,626 of the page's 8,112 reviews. The median listed duration is five and a half hours, so the normal booking is a half day with a driver-guide.
Only two of the 22 are plain admission: the Shanghai Tower observatory at €23.98 and Shanghai Disneyland at €82.78. The Shanghai Museum on People's Square needs neither a tour nor a reservation — since 1 September 2025 individual visitors walk in through the south gate with valid identification, 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:00, closed Mondays except on national holidays.
Booking returns only for national holidays, the summer and winter school breaks and popular special exhibitions. Yuyuan Garden is listed as open daily, 9:00 to 17:00 in peak season and 9:00 to 16:30 off season. Cruise tickets are sold at the Shiliupu quay windows and in the Huangpu River Cruise WeChat mini-program, so the three evening listings, €112.72 to €126.46, buy a guide rather than access. All 22 cancel free.

Not as an individual visitor. Since 1 September 2025 the People's Square building takes walk-ins through the south gate with valid identification, 9:00 to 17:00 with last entry at 16:00, and it closes on Mondays except on national holidays. Advance booking still applies during national holidays, the summer and winter school breaks and for popular special exhibitions; overseas visitors who want a timed slot can book through the museum's WeChat mini-program or trip.com. That building is showing one exhibition, on the ancient civilizations of the Americas, through November 2027, and none of the 22 listings here includes it.
Yes. Tickets are sold at the windows of the Shiliupu Tourist Quay, 481 Zhongshan Road East 2, near the Bund and Yuyuan Garden, and also through the Shanghai Huangpu River Cruise WeChat mini-program, the operators' own WeChat accounts, the SH MaaS app and third-party platforms; other boats leave from the North Bund terminal and the Qinhuangdao Road and Jinling Road East quays. The three evening listings we carry run three to four hours at €112.72 to €126.46 and wrap a guide, a walk or the Shanghai Tower around the boat. Book one if you want the whole evening arranged rather than the crossing itself.
Zhujiajiao is the better covered of the two: six of the 22 titles name it, from half-days of four to five and a half hours at €119 to €130.34 up to full days that add the Shanghai sights at €117.43 and €216.64. Suzhou appears in three, all longer — the private bullet-train day runs eight to nine hours at €193.74, and a customised day pairs Suzhou with Zhujiajiao at €189.34. The cheapest way to see two towns in one day is the ten-hour Suzhou and Zhouzhuang trip at €118.89, which is the only one of those nine not sold as private and the lowest-rated listing on the page, 3.8 from 437 reviews.
