3 days in Penang
George Town's World Heritage core is a flat grid of a few hundred metres, so day one is entirely on foot, with the free CAT shuttle bus for tired legs. Day two takes a Rapid Penang bus or a Grab to Air Itam for the funicular and the temple, 7 km out, and ends at the hawker centres of Gurney Drive. Day three follows the coast road 25 km northwest to the national park and the beaches, and comes back for the fort at dusk. The funicular runs from 6:30 to 23:00, the mansions run guided tours at fixed times, and the heat is the real constraint: the plan puts the outdoor walking before 11:00 and after 16:00, with air-conditioned museums and long lunches in between.
