Questions
Quick answers
When do the island ferries run?
All year from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, but the Centre Island route runs only from mid-April to mid-October; in winter the ferry goes to Ward's Island, from where Centre Island is a 30-minute walk. Buy tickets online for the express line.
How much walking is this itinerary?
Day one is mostly ferry and island strolling; day two is the longest at about 4 km in a straight line between sights, all flat; day three is under 2 km plus the Baldwin Steps up to Casa Loma, then transit.

3 days in Toronto
Downtown Toronto is flat and walkable and the rest is a streetcar ride away, so the plan groups the sights: day one stays on the waterfront, from the CN Tower and the aquarium to the ferry across to Centre Island; day two walks the old town from St. Lawrence Market and the Flatiron building to the Distillery District, then back past the Hockey Hall of Fame to City Hall and Sankofa Square; day three pairs the Royal Ontario Museum and the Gardiner with Casa Loma, and ends among the shops and cafés of Kensington Market. St. Lawrence Market is closed on Mondays, so put day two elsewhere in the week.
