Austria, city by city

Vienna's imperial palaces, great museums and coffee houses sit in and around the Ringstrasse, with Schönbrunn a short U-Bahn ride away. Salzburg links Mozart's old town to the fortress and the Mönchsberg, then Mirabell and a separate Hellbrunn outing. Innsbruck pairs the imperial centre with Ambras Castle and Bergisel before a weather-dependent Nordkette day, and Graz joins the armoury and Schlossberg to contemporary art and Eggenberg Palace.
