How to choose
Mumbai's shelf rests on two subjects. Eleven of the 22 experiences we list are built on either Elephanta or Dharavi — six name the island caves, five the district — and no listing does both. Four of the six go to the island and nothing else, and what separates them is the boat: the two speedboat versions cost €112.72 and €131.22, while the two ferry-based ones are €23.27 and €35.23. The other two fold the caves into a city day of eight to ten hours, at €74.48 and €210.11. Only three tours leave town at all: Lonavala and the Karla caves, ten to twelve hours at €57.49; Agra and the Taj Mahal by return flight, 17 hours at €214.88; and a three-day drive to Ajanta and Ellora at €316.56.
The five Dharavi listings split by price rather than by content. Two are short walks — two to three hours at €6.33, three hours at €7.26 — and the cheaper one carries 2,339 reviews, more than any other item here and close to a quarter of this page's 10,247. The other three attach the district to a half or full city day at €29.40, €51.21 and €158.52. Past those two clusters the list thins quickly: three Bollywood tours, one three-hour dawn walk, one food tour. Nine titles say private. Nothing here sells admission on its own, and no listing names the CSMVS museum, Crawford Market, Mani Bhavan or Marine Drive. Median length is five and a half hours, median price about €60; ratings run 4.8 to 5.0, eight of them flat fives.
Six listings here go to Elephanta and the caves normally close on Mondays, so the date comes before the tour. Maharashtra Tourism treats the boat and the cave admission as two separate purchases, and the crossing depends on the sea. What a €23.27 guided ferry trip adds over arranging it yourself is a guide, the queue and someone tracking the last return sailing.
The island means steps whatever you pay — Maharashtra Tourism notes the short toy train does not remove them all. CSMVS sets out its ticket categories and gallery access on its own visitor page, and Mani Bhavan publishes visitor information directly, so both are booked without an intermediary; neither appears in any listing here. Twenty-one of the 22 cancel free, the exception being the three-day Ajanta and Ellora trip.

No. The ferry leaves from the Gateway of India, and Maharashtra Tourism treats the boat and the cave admission as separate purchases, so you can arrange both yourself. Six of the 22 experiences we list go there anyway, from €23.27 for a guided trip using the ferry to €112.72 and €131.22 by private speedboat. The caves normally close on Mondays and the crossing depends on sea conditions, so confirm the sailings and the last return before fixing the date.
It is the most used product on this page. Five of the 22 listings go to Dharavi, and the cheapest — a two- to three-hour walk at €6.33, led by female guides from the district — has 2,339 reviews, more than any other Mumbai item we list. A three-hour version pairing Dharavi with the Dhobi Ghat laundries costs €7.26. The three that bolt the district onto a five- to nine-hour city day run €29.40, €51.21 and €158.52, so check whether you are paying for the walk or for the car.
One listing does it: a 17-hour day to Agra with commercial flights both ways at €214.88, rated 4.8 from 103 reviews. It is one of only three experiences we list that leave the city. The others are Lonavala and the Karla caves at €57.49 for ten to twelve hours, and a three-day private car trip to Ajanta and Ellora at €316.56 — the single listing on this page without free cancellation.
