Search covers the whole collection for this city, not just the experiences shown. Price, length and sorting are applied before the list is built; when a search is running, price and length are applied to the results on this page. How to choose
Of the 24 experiences we list for Rome, the large majority are guided entries to just two places: the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, and the Colosseum with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Three are sold explicitly as skip-the-line, three leave the city for a day, two are food or wine walks, and one is on the river. The median length is three hours.
That concentration is the useful part. Comparing Rome tours is mostly comparing what happens at those two gates: whether the ticket is included, whether a licensed guide comes inside with you, and how long you actually get in each room.
The Colosseum needs a timed slot, and the standard 24-hour ticket already includes the Roman Forum, the Palatine and the Imperial Forums — so a tour that lists those three is adding a guide, not adding entry.
The Vatican Museums open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 16:00, and close on Sundays except the last Sunday of the month, when entry is free from 9:00 to 14:00. That free Sunday is the day a skip-the-line option earns its price.

No. The official timed ticket covers entry to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine. A tour buys you a guide, a fixed start time and, for the arena floor and underground levels, access that the standard ticket does not include.
It depends on the day. The queue is longest on the free last Sunday of the month and on Saturday mornings. Outside those, booking a timed official ticket yourself achieves most of the same thing.
Three hours is the median in our list. A combined Vatican and Colosseum day is long and involves a cross-city transfer, so most itineraries here keep them on separate days.
