Getting around
- A single ticket generally covers one uninterrupted journey. Transfers between metro lines are permitted on the same single ticket, but most other changes require a new ticket. Consider a travelcard if you will make several journeys.Source: BKK · checked Sep 2026
- Single tickets need validation; travelcards and passes have different usage rules. Follow BKK’s instructions for the paper or digital product you buy.Source: BKK · checked Sep 2026
Questions
Quick answers
What should I book first?
If entering Parliament matters to you, secure a confirmed tour before fixing day one. Check the synagogue and church calendars, then arrange the bath ticket around day three.
Is Castle Hill an easy walk?
The distances are fairly short but slopes, steps and cobbles add effort. Reach the hill by transport if useful and allow more time than the straight-line distance suggests.

3 days in Budapest
Give central Pest, Castle Hill and City Park a day each. Start with the market and Jewish Quarter before reaching the riverside sights, keep the castle terraces together on the second day, and leave a full afternoon for the baths on the third. Book any Parliament tour before fixing the order of your Pest day.
