Questions
Quick answers
When should I walk the City Walls?
As early as possible, before the heat and the crowds. Most visitors start at the Pile Gate, and the same ticket lets you visit Fort Lovrijenac.
How do I get to Lokrum?
Boats leave from the Old Port, where the ticket office is, and every visitor needs an entry ticket for the island. Check the season's boat timetable before you go.
How much walking is this itinerary?
Between sights it is well under 1 km a day in a straight line, because the Old Town is tiny, but the City Walls alone add about 2 km of steps and ramparts.

3 days in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik's Old Town is small enough to cross in ten minutes, so the plan spreads out around it: day one walks the City Walls early, before the heat and the crowds, and explores the streets and palaces inside them; day two takes the boat to Lokrum and ends at Fort Lovrijenac, which your walls ticket also covers; day three rides the cable car up Mount Srđ, visits the Dominican Monastery and finishes with dinner in Cavtat. Expect steep stairs everywhere.
