Belgium, city by city

Brussels through the historic centre and the museums of the upper town, then the Atomium and Cinquantenaire. Bruges unhurried: market squares and canals, a compact museum quarter, the Beguinage and the eastern ramparts. Ghent for the great towers and the old harbour, Gravensteen and the northern lanes, then the abbey and the art museum. The major altarpieces need booked slots.
