Roman Verona, medieval art and the hills across the Adige

Use three full days and check Arena sightseeing against its performance calendar. The two civic museum days normally need dates other than Monday. Church access changes around services; arrange the cathedral day accordingly. Hotel, station and first-stop journeys are additional.

Day 1

Arena, Castelvecchio and San Zeno

Visit the Arena during its daytime sightseeing window and pause at Arco dei Gavi on the way to Castelvecchio. After lunch, give the museum and bridge a substantial visit, then walk west to San Zeno with enough time for its final visitor entry.

Verona Arena

  • Plan about 1 h 15 min
  • Daytime sightseeing and an opera performance need different tickets

2Roman arch

Arco dei Gavi

Pause by the arch and look at its position beside the river approach to Castelvecchio. This is a short outdoor landmark stop on the way to the museum.

  • Plan about 20 min
  • The arch does not require a separate long visit

Midday

LunchTake lunch near Castelvecchio before the museum. If San Zeno closes earlier on your date, visit it before lunch and return to the museum afterwards.

DinnerStay near San Zeno for dinner or allow a separate walk back into the centre.

Day 2

Evening

DinnerEnjoy a relaxed dinner in the centre. A Lamberti Tower climb can replace free time only with its own entry arrangements.
